THE APPRECIATIVE AFRICAN AMERICAN = Visits and/or learns about a particular country in Africa/Caribbean Islands, asks to participate/wear/enjoy that particular country's stuff, wear's items of clothing/jewelry from said culture with respect and knowledge. Does not believe being a decendant of people from Africa gives them automatic entitlement to fuck up. People from African countries show respect to the African American person because they gave respect and appreciation right back. Positive feelings and friendships blossoms.
THE IGNORANT AFRICAN AMERICAN = Neither visits nor learns about any country/culture in African/Caribbean Islands but thinks being a descendant of African people grants them automatic right to wear whatever they like so long as it looks African. Thinks they have the right to everything African just because they exist and looks pretty. Does not realize how rude it looks. Does not realize how much they reinforce stereotypes about Africa. Uses the ignorant excuse of ''but we're all African!!11' to do whatever they like. Acts butthurt whenever a fellow African American or African calls them out on their ignorance. Cries about 'not getting anything' due to slavery and continues to appropriate many cultures at once because they believe they deserve it for merely existing as a descendant of African peoples.
